Dierks has been a fave since he first hit the scene. We’re the same age & our lives have kind of mirrored each other’s in ways, so he has kind of been the soundtrack to my adulting life. I mean, this song isn’t bad, but I am not a fan of the highly over-produced, scarily close to Bro Country aspect of his music, e.g. the entire Black album. The Mountain was such a refreshing return to what appeals to me about his music & this feels like a turn back in the other direction.
