Music is a powerful thing. Luke grew up listening to this song whenever his father would play it and now decades later, TOOK that song to #1 and has set more eyes on Tracy Chapman and her catalog. When people backgrounds and cultures come together musically, it's a very beautiful thing. This song got a second life because of how much it speaks to the ideas of struggle, poverty, willingness to be in a better place in life. Luke did not change a single lyric as this perfect song needed no altering. There's no power at play here, just one artist admiring another artist that had such an impact on his life. Great stuff.
