Celine Dion alone makes this album 5 stars. Even if other songs aren't as great, God Bless America is just amazing, stunning, and whatever good adjective you can think of. Sure she is Canadian, but so what? Canada is our bro anyway. Why can't our bro love our nation? Why can't Americans love Canada and vise versa? If you have problem with Celine Dion singing God Bless America, you are NOT American.

I think this CD Is overall very good but I purchased the whole album especially for "God Bless the U.S.A" by Lee Greenwood and it is unfortunately the only song that gets cut off with 1:05 left…..very disappointed about this especially because I can't buy the song just by itself.

I don't understand the hate over Celine Dion singing God Bless America, sure she's a Canadian, but she lives in The United States of America, are we forgetting what America is, the land of immigrants. Plus she did an amazing job love her or hate her you can't deny she's got an amazing voice.

First let me just say that I appreciate the fact that this money is all being donated to 9/11 causes and it's not just a bunch of artists wanting to make a quick buck or two. That being said, I don't love the song choices. I will applaud Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Mahalia Jackson on their songs. But the rest are uninspired and boring, some songs being old hits that were dusted off and added to the track list. A suggestion? Put Whitney Houston's version of the National Anthem and Nicole Scherzinger's version of America the Beautiful on the album. They are amazing, powerful, and a little more contemporary for the 2000s.

I think this album is GREAT because of it's intent. I was upset when I saw some reviews of people that somehow did not understand that this album was made as an american tribute right after 9/11 by some musicians heartfelt response to a dramatic and painful tragedy. I know. I live in NYC. To those of us that lived through the smoke, this album was beautiful and necessary. Thank you.
  • Some terrific, some very old

Some terrific songs and performances; not necessarily all patriotic. Celione Dion's performance is awe-inspiring (even for a Canadian singing God Bless America!). Some VERY old-fashioned (out-of-date) renditions. I would have chosen differently, but to each his own.
