  • Arguably best guitarrist around

Sykes has a vibrado and a technique that is second to none. If you play the guitar even as beginner you must know how har it is to sing and play like he does. Very few players can pull it off. Hendrix did and knopfler does but to do it is INCREDIBLY difficult and boy can he sing. The singing here is not the best however he does manage to carry most tunes seamlessly well. If you enjoy hard rock and classic rock this is a must in your collection. His soko in "crying in the rain" is a masterclass in the lespaul and his tempo and ability to let the songs breathe its own life without overstretching any solos render this effort a perfect examplke of the sublime ability of English players that deliver exactly what you expect, a clean sound with perfect technique. The orquestra here is also amazing. The more i know this guitarrist the more I am astound of the vibrato he delivers from his les paul.

John Sykes IS THE Whitesnake album that made Coverdale, I guess I'll say "better known". I'll buy a Sykes recording anyday over a Coverdale/DeadSnake recording. Great riffs and chops John!!!! Keep it up!!!

Sykes has always been better known as being under someone else, but here he is standing alone and showing that he doesn't need anyone to be great and to bring the greatness that he has always brought. The job he does on vocals is simply briliant and yes, as you would expect his guitar work and tone are top notch!! Buy this album and let the world know about this true rock legend!! Sykes Rocks!

This collection of re-energized Lizzy/Lynott/Whitesnake/Murder/solo material just blazes. No question Sykes assembled a top-notch crew to back him up at these Japanese performances. No question the delivery is slick, tight, electric, and sure not to disappoint. In heavy rotation on my iPod, and has been for years.
  • John's sick guitar shredding(live)!

This is an amazing live recording of John Sykes playing Whitesnake, Blue Murder and a couple Thin Lizzy tunes! He played on Whitesnakes self titled album and then started Blue Murder as his own band. John is doing all the singing and plays lead guitar on this live cd and does an amazing job. This cd was previously only available on John's website.
