Amazing album, bad digital mastering. Listened to this digitally for the first time in years. Omg the American/EU mastering is terrible for CD. The over clipping on “voices” makes my ears hurt so bad. It makes the song sound like a cassette getting distorted due to a dirty tape head.
I thought my Vinyl LP was sub par but it isn’t. If you can find the cassette in mint condition from Indonesia, grab it. It was mastered very differently then iTunes, LP, or any CD pressing. (Japanese is only a slight improvement.)
As for the album I was 18 when this got released. I got it on Vinyl LP and CD release day. It was cheesy and sounded like everything else from that era. However years later it has aged very well. This will be viewed as a masterpiece in its own right as time goes forward. Not enough people appreciate it now but will when she passes. I already do.
One song just GETS ME

OK so four minutes is like the best song of this whole entire album it’s probably my favorite song of this album and I recommend listening to it I play every day on my Alexa so well almost every day I just love it so much and if you love Madonna this song is totally for you and if you love Justin Timberlake this is also the song for you. So if you are Madonna fan just listen to this song and you’ll be mine blown.

Well, I bought several of the songs when this came out in 2008. 12 years later, I have all of them. I didn't realize this whole album is such a bop (no filler) when this first came out. However, it's excellent. I love love love the production and it's one of the best pop albums I can think of, not just by Madonna. I used to think Ray of Light was Madonna's only quintessential masterpiece; I don't compare them anymore. They both are masterpieces and can exist together!
Keeps me moving

I love the album because some of the songs make me dance on the floor. I was so happy when my dance teacher used "4 minutes" as a group dance for the competition. Anyways, this album has a lot of positive vibes and fun energy, even though haters can say it's overrated & boring.
Dark Madonna R&B

This album it’s great. Dark side of Madonna. A fighter a more dark version of her music. Different from what she’s used to. But amazing no other. This take on the R&B style it’s great with amazing songs like give it to me, candy shop, and of course miles away.
Love Hard Candy After All These Year

The album feels like Justin Timberlake featuring Madonna. Solid pop album, worst album cover she ever did. What was she thinking ? 😱
Feels empty

The second crappy album Madonna released in the oughts (American Life was the first). Some catchy hooks don't add up to anything much at all. Ultimately it's like eating a sugary dessert - you'll feel sick and unfulfilled afterward.
Has some highs and lows but is....

Madonna has way better albums. This album is ok and has its highlights but pretty much falls flat for except maybe a few tracks. Madonna, Like A Virgin, Erotica, American Life, Confessions On A Dance Floor are way better and won’t disappoint. Hard Candy is a mediocre pop album at best.
