The album where it all began....again

My Own Prison is clearly the album where it all began. However, Human Clay is what truly launched Creed into the mainstream spotlight. This is Creed's most, if not 2nd most, solid album. Songs like What If, Say I, Faceless Man, With Arms Wide Open, Higher, Wash Away Those Years, Inside Us All....good gosh that's one heck of a list. I think where critics started to hate on Creed was because With Arms Wide Open got played so much, that Creed became known as a Christian Rock Band. However, Creed was never a Christian band, despite the Christian faith of lead singer Scott Stapp. The idea then formed that Creed was soft, and then the hatred began to pour on. Critics did not understand what was happening with Stapp from 1999-2002 with his mental health. HOWEVER...let's pump the brakes now. All of that crap doesn't change the fact that this was Creed's best selling album, and for GOOD REASON. Look at those songs I mentioned earlier, and listen to how meaningful Stapp's lyrics are. Listen to the beautiful hard rock riffs and soft, but beautiful, fingerpicked melodies by Tremonti. Listen to Flip's drums and Marshall's kickass bass. This band flowed, and they sold 11.5 million copies (just in the US) from this album ALONE.
