Used to listen to this album nonstop in 94-97'...every song is fantastico. Stillness in Time one of the best songs Jamiroquai has written...man I miss the old days! Buy this album + Emergency on Planet Earth + Traveling Without Moving + Synkronized...after that I stopped listening....Thanks Jay and crew for the good music.

Return of the Space Cowboy is Jamiroquai's defining album. While there are highlights on "Emergency on Planet Earth" before this and highlights on the albums afterwards, THE ENTIRE BAND was defined here. Jay's vocalizing was at it's best, but more importantly the line up of musicians, and instrumentation was never quite as good after. Enjoy the album that blew up the underground in 95', before Jay took himself to the paparazzi in the years to come.

This Album starts with one of my favorite songs of all time (title track) and just continues to astound with it's mix of 70's soul, jazz, techno & funk. Probably their best album but you could argue Traveling w/out Moving. Standouts are Manifest Destiny, Light Years, Stillnes in Time & Morning Glory. Underated band not credited for their influence on artists such as Maroon 5, N.E.R.D (Pharell) and other hip-hop artists.

This is my favorite Jamiroqaui album. I think this was their peak, they still had the jazz elements, but their was a little more funk than Emegency on Planet Earth. Stuart Zender's bass playing is simply phenomenal, with incredible basslines on The Kids and Just Another Story.

Possibly the best Jamiroquai album! This one is very unexpected and takes you for quite a ride. Every track is something fresh and new. Amazing!

Jay Kay used to write realtively complex, catchy songs before he was content to churn out base level pseudo-funk that "any fool could remix" (his words, not mine). Yeah, the new stuff has great hooks & is fun to hear on a dance floor but the quality isn't there. Return of the Space Cowboy is possibly the best of the Jamiroquai work. It's still fresh & exciting like Emergency on Planet Earth, without the cloying social responsibility.
Still one fo the best!

I used to love this band, especially at it's core. It was so dreamy, yet at the same time you wanted to dance to it. Now, I'd have to say that Jay Kay really lost his way, not that he's bad, but the elements in the pure band Jamiroquai have definitely limited his full potential. He had something going, and then somebody in the band leaves. But, I digress. This is the album that made me fall in love with Jamiroquai. Traveling Without Moving was like the honeymoon.
