Coming off of a legendary sabbatical where he practiced late at night on the Williamsburg Bridge, a superb, freshly-energized, imaginative Rollins with a piano-less quartet delivered a jazz landmark. Jim Hall on guitar is fabulous. "Without A Song" is great, as are the speed-burners "John S", and "The Bridge". Ballads "Where Are You?" and "God Bless The Child" are spellbindingly wonderful.
