This soundtrack goes exactly to the movie. I can sit back while listening to this music and think i am in France. It is tasteful and makes me yern for some "chocolat". I would love to have the movie on my iPod. it truly is sinfuly delicious =)

This movie was released more than 8 years ago, and it still remains one of my most favorite soundtracks ever! Such whimsical, mysterious, and quizzical tunes make up the soundtracks, and it would definitely NOT be a waste of your money to buy it! Absolute thumbs up!

Love Rachel Portman's fresh, staccato take on Django Reinhardt's classic "Minor Swing." but they left out the song that is similar to it and appears to be played by Johnny Depp during the movie (dancing and dessert served after the chocolat dinner party about four fifth's of the way through the movie). If you like the Gypsy Swing sound suggest you try Novamenco "Flight to Paradise" or the old standards Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli.

I just saw this film and i was quite impressed on the story. Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp, and Judi Dench all star in this comedic romantic flick about a single mother who moves to a resolute town in France and opens up a chocolate shop. At first, the villagers cross their fingers in disgust, but once the time passes and the wind blows, the villagers adapt to the shop's presence and become curious about its purpose. After having a decadent hot chocolate (which is actually REAL chocolate that is hot and I am not speaking of the Nestle hot chocolate packets at all!) or a dainty truffle, let us just say that the owner (Juliette Binoche) would see the same people the next day. And, based on Depp's previous films such as his three-part series of films, known as The Pirates of the Caribbean, you can't deny this film. He played an excellent role, as well as Judi Dench, Juliette Binoche, and the young daughter, played by Victoire Thivisol.
