I'd say they got the album title right. The recording is a treat for Patti Austin fans and a splendid introduction for her new fans.

Still, this collection is an awesome sample of early Patti. The mastering of this cd is a bit quiet but not bad for 1994, noise reduction reduces hiss a bit but it's not overused so listening fatigue isn't a problem. These songs and songs from this era were never meant for sonic enhancement, it was vinyl that gave these songs warmth and loudness so we can't expect too much in the way of loud remastering. That said this collection offers a glimpse into not only what was to come in the 80's the closing tracks really offer a look, they tried to make Patti a disco queen, and it displays Patti's off-beat sense of humor, especially in the self-penned "Havana Candy." Freddie Cole covered Patti's original "You Don't Have To Say You're Sorry" and it's a nice cover, Patti would re-record her original "That's Enough For Me" for her 1994 cd "That Secret Place." The original version here features a way younger Patti and a sparse arrangement, almost making this original seem like a demo. Overall this collection is a terrific introduction to Patti.
