“One toke over the line” is so addicting to listen to. I was an early 00s kid and well we were robbed of this kind of talent and music.

One of the great folk-rock albums EVER. Beginning to end, every song is great---instrumentally, vocally, harmonically. This beautifully produced and performed album is 45 years old and still so, so listenable all these years later. If you came of age during the Age of Aquarius, and even if you are a Millennial, you will love this great recording. One of the top ten Most Underrated records ever. Get it, you'll love it. Trust me.

If you know Brewer and Shipley then buy this album, if you don't really know them and just stumbled upon them while searching for some new folky and rockish tunes from the greatest era of music (late 60's to early 70's) then still, buy this album. One need not listen further than One Toke Over the Line to know that this album is great. Every song on the album is strong; great instrumental work, including some spot-on steel guitar by Jerry Garcia. The songwriting found here is exceptional for its simple formulas and ingenious melodies that shine on each of the cuts, not to mention the magical vocal harmony created by these two men . Highlights include The Light with its gentle breeze of rolling guitar work, rhythmic percussion, and colorful drops of organ playing. Can't Go Home follows a similar vain as the previous but with more imagery and sentiments of nostalgia; very powerful song. Tarkio Road is another good cut of folk/rock at its best, they're singing of a true event here too folks. To make it short, each song has its own strength and beauty. This album deserves way more recognition than it recieved and it can start with you diggin' in to these tunes. Dig in good and stay true.
