I bought this CD after hearing a few of its songs on the radio, and haven't taken it out of my car's audio system since. Songs like "Next Door Neighbor Blues" and "Third Stone from the Sun/If You Love Me like You Say" showcase Clark's immaculate skill and taste. Hopefully, he will revert back to this sound after Sonny Boy Slim.

I was a fan back when Gary was just a side article in a guitar mag. Good to see he's gone to better places. So much soul. Buy this.

It does sound like a lot of different types of songs put together but its still great. Things Are Changin' is by far my favorite song on the album but the rest of the album is a pleasure to listen to as well.

This album is too polished overall and does not showcase his trademark rough around the edges voice and guitar skills. Many of these songs sound like ballads and do not carry the energy of previous songs such as "don't owe you a thang." After seeing him sweep the crowd up into fervor with raw intensity at Coachella last year this is not the studio release I expected.

Saw Gary Clark Jr. live @ Floydfest '12 without ever hearing of him prior...was blown away by his skill, versitility, and vibe (while he seemed pompus at times)...this is a great album through and through...very eclectic...I hear influences from jimi, prince, stevie ray, smokey, robert johnson, to outkast...thank the al'mighty for blessing us...just a bit too polished and produce...keep real...keep it simple...

This guy can easily be compared to the likes of John Lee Hooker, Hendrix, and Prince. He is a superb guitarist. Close your eyes and listen to You Saved Me, it's like a missing cut from the Purple Rain album. Love the falsetto's and guitar riffs. It's rock, rockabilly, and blues all in the same CD. It's a great listen over all.
