A State of Trance 2013

I must admit that it has been some time since I purchased an ASOT album. I do subscribe to the podcast so I tend to get my fix, but those have seemed to be produced more infrequently. So I picked up AVB's Intense album and it doesn't disappoint. However, the last ASOT I have is 2008 which is amazing. When I heard people complaining about newer ASOT albums and radio edits I didn't really understand. I hear the track preview and most sound great. Some recognizable tracks from the Podcast that I've been wanting to hear the full versions of too. I saw that they were also two continuous tracks over and hour each. I thought a great deal for $10. Well now that I've been listening, I am sadly disappointed in Armin. The tracks don't even flow into each other. They get hacked off and faded out ruining the continuous flow of the album. This was not done in the 2008 full album which is why I love it so. Armin doesn't do this on his own albums, but I'm not sure he even mixes the ASOT's albums anymore. Anyone with his level of talent cannot let Radio Edits go out. I thought he owned his record label. He doesn't need to greedy Corp backing. Although the album does have good tracks its cut up and completely ruins the mood. No way you could ever have a seamless mix with this. Workouts or anything needing repetitive momentum are impossible. Even the continuous 1hr mixes are cut short. The first one cuts out midway through the beat. How lame! I will say that I will NEVER buy another ASOT album that is hacked up with Radio Edits. I guess this is how they sell them for $9.99 instead of $15.99-18.99. Where can I get full versions or do they not exist?

You have no idea how amazing this is. I'm so impressed with this year AND 2014. Armin is so extremely on point with every year and I absolutely love every song he has ever put his hands on. Armin is truly brilliant. Thank you, Mr. Van Buuren :) Coming from TX, USA ;)

If you love trance it's a must have !!! Great compilation by one of the best if not the best !!!

I actually preferred ASOT 2012 to this album, this is a lot more harsh, dubstep sounding. Also, the majority of the songs 'are' radio edits and are ~3 minutes long. Still wondering why "Game Over" is in this album, that is clearly dubstep.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars only because all of the songs are radio edits. Why not include the full versions. I would be will to pay a higher price for the record with full tracks. Big letdown. Other than that, awesome playlist.
