I love the album content. However the sound quality isn't great. Is there a better re-mastered set of recordings out there?

I grew up in a small town in Texas (50s & 60s). In High School you either listened to Country or R&R. I was in the R&R crowd. At the time my school was still segregated. However, I lived on the side of town that was closest to the area where the blacks lived, and developed a friendship with a couple of the black guys. It was one of those guys who turned me on to Jim-Eye (supposedly, according to my friend, thats how he was known amongst his black fans). Well, after hearing his music he gained a white fan. For the casual listener, or those of you who want to get to know Jimmy's music, this is one hellavu download.

All his albums were 5 stars. While goin to highschool in the 60's in Ft Worth we used frequent a mixed race dancehall/juke joint called The Skyliner Ballroom (bring your own bottle $1 for a setup) Jimmy played every Fri-Sat night. He played drunk most of the time and his wife would stand nearby and help him with the lyrics he couldn't remember since there was a bottle of Jack on the floor next to his stool. He was one of the greatest bluesmen ever and we cherish the memories of seeing him live during our highscool and early college years. Bubba, San Antonio

These are great records. Take Out Some Insurace is one of my older brothers favorites. Took me thirty years to realize how hip my older brother is.

Jimmy likes rolling with the high notes on his harp, unique, pleasing and satisfying, like cleaning your ears of ear wax. You will like the effect and never foget it! I do not agree that it all sounds alike, but I do agree that it all sounds good.

Wonderful 60's Blue's music. His life was too short lived.
