OK, but what happened to the Islan Flair!

So Jimmy must be in a total country phase, which is ok, but he was the one who pioneered the country/island thing, so it is dissapointing to see the lack of steel drum and island theme in his most current work. I would love for him to get back to the Carribean, write a sequal to "Where is Joe Merchant" and bring me back to the Banna Wind Island dreaming.
Nice effort.

Upon first listen, I was not very impressed, but I felt like this album deserved a second play through and I found that I liked about 4 songs. Unfortunately I'm not feeling a lot of what I expect from Jimmy Buffett, which is very hard to describe. I long for simple, playful, and/or classic JB stories put to music. I feel like some songs are veering too rock and some too country, and there's not enough island. With that said, I recommend Wings and We Learned To Be Cool From You (the most classic sounding songs to me), Big Top (has a certain Jackson Browne guitar quality to it), and Turn Up the Heat and Chill the Rose. Still, it felt good to buy this album and hear some new stuff even if it wasn't all to my liking.

I am a parrot head and I found that I liked this new cd as well as all of his other music. This is the kind of music I like to do house work with as it inspires me. It also hits that part of me that is not looking for the standard stuff on the radios today. Jimmy Buffett is probably one of the best things since folk music and R&B
Honestly,

It was good. I thought it would've been worse. I like it. I bought it.
Kind of a let down...

I consider myself a Parrothead to the core, but i just can't get into this album. There are a couple of ok-to-good songs, Summerzcool is probably the best song on the album. It doesn't have the island feel that many of us love.
I think I'll go listen to Barometer Soup.
I'd say "pretty good"

This is a pretty good record overall. It's not his best but far from his worst. The songs that are good are very good and then there are some that are so-so. "Wings" stands out, along with "Turn Up the Heat..." and "Beautiful Swimmers."
Consistent Quality

This is another solid album from JB. A nice mix of slower ballads, pure fun and some seriously catchy tunes. I especially liked 'Buffet Hotel', 'Turn up the Heat and Chill the Rose' and 'Surfing in a Hurricane'. If you like JB I think you'll be very happy with this one.
Not his best

I am a huge Buffett fan and have seen him perform every where but......., this is the worst album since Don't stop the carnival. Just not Buffett! Just purchased the Encores album, it is fantastic!!!! Best since Banana Wind, my favorite!!!
