American Dream

This is one of my personal favorite Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young albums. This album has a great flow, track after track. Also, this album has great vocals, great drum solos, and great guitar solos as well. Finally, the instruments wrap around the vocals like no other, and intertwine perfectly. Definitely looking forward to the next limited play album, and extended play album from Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

I don't care if it was the 80's. I love these guys but this is lazy, sad and painful. Especially after the failed Human Highway album in the 70's, you'd think their first outing since Deja Vu wouldn't be so horrible. But it's just that: horrific. CSNY are one of the miracles in rock music. I adore most of their early work, individually and in various parings. But this was, and remains, unforgivable.

Out of place keyboard and bass sample sounds. No bottom end.

I never knew this album existed until 2006 and when i listened to it i was really thrilled. Also back then i really wasn't into CNSY but tastes change. I would recommend SOLDIERS OF PEACE with Graham Nash singing lead because it is a protest song. I also have to admit i love CLEAR BLUE SKIES and GOT IT MADE. It's ashame they don't make good music like that anymore. ps im only in my 20's so im too young to remember when this album came out.

On long car trips my dad and I would bring our brown paper bag filled with cassette tapes. This album was one of my favorites! Driving down highway 101 cruising down to social. I was only 8 and this old house of ours made me cry while do it in the name of love brought a smile to my face.

Not a huge fan. But a great 3 part harmony recording.

I can't believe I'm the first to write a review of this. When this album first came out I heard the title track on WMMR in Philly. DJ Pierre Robert said what an excellent album it was, and recomended listening to it with headphones on. So I bought the cassette, took Mr. International's advice, and one morning took a walk on the beach with this in my walkman. I was completely blown away! The songs, the harmonies, the music, along with the sun coming up and the ocean's waves made for one of the greatest listening experiences of my life. Key tracks are "Got It Made" "Name of Love" "Compass" "This Old House" and the title track "American Dream". Listen with headphones, and if ya get the chance, take a walk on a beach while listenng. You can thank me later...
